TASSIMOV’s community workflow was checked 16 October. The readable Steam guide also displays removal/incompatibility notices; status unclear. We have not tested a wheel.[1]
Set up the wheel, pedals and buttons
- Connect before launch; check OS detection.
- Open Settings → Controls → Steering Wheel → Set Up Wheel.
- Move each prompted control, then Confirm.
- Skip absent controls; Cancel exits.
- For individual assignments, use Steering Wheel → Key Bindings.[1]
Test the result one input at a time
Our suggested acceptance check separates “the wizard finished” from “the car is controllable.” In a clear area, begin with your feet off the pedals and the wheel centered. Then test the following without changing several bindings together.
| Input | Check | Record if it fails |
|---|---|---|
| Steering | Turn left, return to center, then turn right. Does the car respond both ways? | No response, stuck direction or mismatch after centering. |
| Accelerator | Press and release only this pedal. | No input, always-on input or a response on the wrong pedal. |
| Brake | Press and release only the brake at low speed. | No braking or an unintended accelerator response. |
| Clutch/shifter, if fitted | Check only after steering, accelerator and brake respond. | Which specific control was skipped, assigned or ignored. |
This checklist is an editorial diagnostic aid, not a test we performed. If just one control fails, reassign that action first; the community guide recommends reassigning abnormal inputs.[1]
Known reports after wheel configuration
Comments include PXN V9 GEN2 clutch failure and a Fanatec DD2 forcing right despite input detection. AdrianFerna reported that disabling force feedback stopped motor force but did not fix steering.[1]
Our interpretation is to distinguish a motor-force problem from an input problem. Removing one sensation is not enough to accept a steering test. Record the actual car response before deciding whether a change helped. Buying replacement hardware without isolating the symptom would leave the same uncertainty.
If an input is still missing
Record the wheel model, pedal model, whether pedals connect through the wheel or separately by USB, detected axes, bindings attempted and which of the four checks above failed. Send the result to Steam Support — CPM 2 product help ↗ (external site, opens in a new tab); it lists the game’s support contact.[2]
Do I need a clutch to finish setup?
The guide provides Skip for controls your device lacks. Skipping a control is different from a connected clutch failing to bind.
Is this the A/D keyboard fix?
No. Use the keyboard and stuck-left steering checks for that symptom.
Does the guide prove my wheel is supported?
No model-by-model verification is available here. Match your actual symptom before trying another player’s workaround.
